Wood-Ridge posted its second straight shutout in a 29-0 victory over Bogota on Saturday to improve to 2-0 in an NJIC football game at Bogota.
The Blue Devils have outscored their opponents, 59-0, in the first two weeks to start 2-0 for the first time since 2007.Wood-Ridge junior QB Mike Giancaspro was 13-of-22 for 295 yards and two touchdowns — one each to Jake Colon and Vincent Giordano — and added 10 carries for 75 yards. Colon finished with five catches for 132 yards and teammate Chris Musante added five receptions for 105 yards.
AJ Espinosa scored on touchdown runs of 15 and 17 yards, and Greg Carmona and Kevin Castillo combined for a sack in the end zone for a safety in the fourth quarter. Carmona ended with eight tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery.
