GLEN ROCK – Defense again reigns supreme at Glen Rock. If the Panthers can count on just one item, it is their man-to-man, 32-minute pressing, ball-hawking style.
Sagely employing its strong wall-to-wall defensive pressure, Glen Rock, No. 16 in The Record girls basketball Top 25, turned back No. 25 Rutherford, 49-35, Thursday night in an NJIC Colonial Division game.
With the victory, its ninth in a row, Glen Rock clinches at least a share of the Colonial and the Panthers (18-5, 14-0) win it outright with a victory on the road against Hawthorne on Tuesday or a win Thursday at home against Manchester. The title is the fourth straight time Glen Rock has taken first place in the Colonial and the Panthers have six years in a row as division champions, including their last two seasons in the Bergen-Passaic Scholastic League.
