NORTH HALEDON – Brooke Van Lenten scored 22 points and freshman forward Madison Wynbeek added 14 to lead 11th-seeded Eastern Christian to a 58-13 win over No. 14 Manchester in the preliminary round of the Passaic County tournament Saturday.
Van Lenten, a junior guard, also drained two three-pointers – both in the second quarter – for the Eagles (11-2).
Freshman guard Anna Kinz gave the Eagles a strong performance at both ends of the floor, and scored nine points with one three.
Senior point guard Aaliyah McCrae led Manchester (2-12) with six points.
Eastern Christian advanced to play sixth-seeded Wayne Valley in the next round.
