LYNDHURST – The Lyndhurst girls soccer team had been anxiously awaiting this win for more than two and a half years.
But even after earning it, the Golden Bears were reminded that their job isn’t finished.
Sophomore midfielder Amanda Fulcher and sophomore defender Kelsie Kearns scored on magnificent shots Thursday and Lyndhurst, ranked No. 23 in The Record girls soccer Top 25, got a little help from the crossbar on its way to a 2-0 victory over No. 19 New Milford in a critical NJIC Liberty Division game.
It was Lyndhurst’s first victory over New Milford in six tries since both joined the division in 2012. It also put the Golden Bears (9-1) in a strong position to win their first division crown since 2011.
