RAMSEY — There were no power points to be gained, no division titles on the line, but Tuesday’s regular-season matchup between Immaculate Conception and Ramsey was exactly what both teams were looking for with the Bergen County softball tournament on the horizon.
The Blue Wolves survived, 4-3, thanks to a perfectly executed relay play in the bottom of the seventh from center fielder Gabby Slade to shortstop Gabby Fredette to third baseman Amanda Zielinski.     With no outs, trailing, 4-2, and courtesy runner Devan Larsen (running for Sophie Blasius, who singled) on first, Ramsey’s Abby Triglia singled up the middle. A wicked hop sent the ball to the center field fence, allowing Larsen to score easily.
Larsen, representing the tying run, attempted to reach third, but was thrown out on Fredette’s pinpoint relay from the outfield.
