PARK RIDGE1, BOGOTA 0:

Freshman catcher Julia Manning hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the eighth for the game’s only run as Park Ridge defeated Bogota, 1-0, in NJIC softball Wednesday in Park Ridge.

Manning’s single scored senior first baseman Angela Rivera, who led off the inning with a double. Freshman Amanda Mulligan pitched all eight innings, walking one and striking out seven for the Owls (6-2).

 

LODI 9, POMPTON LAKES 4:

(at LODI) Bryanna Bigica didn’t have all of her “A’’ pitches working, so instead she went with some of her “B’’ deliveries. They proved to be plenty good enough.

The Lodi junior right-hander threw a six-hit complete game, allowing only two hits over the final five innings and retiring the last seven in order to help the Rams get past Pompton Lakes, 9-4, in an NJIC Colonial Division softball game Wednesday at Kennedy Park.

 

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS 15, WALLINGTON 0, 5 inn. (at Wallington): Junior lefty Jessica Gasparino pitched a no-hitter with five strikeouts and three walks for the Aviators (7-2).Junior shortstop Hannah Christensen had a double and three RBI.
