PARK RIDGE – Resiliency has been a friendly calling card for the Park Ridge softball team this year. On Monday the Owls again relied on their trademark resourcefulness to pull out another big victory.
Pitcher Erica Huber, freshman third baseman KellyAnn Rubino and senior shortstop Alexis Criscoulo helped Park Ridge escape a bases-loaded, one-out seventh-inning jam, and the Owls held off Emerson, 6-4, in a North 1, Group 1 first-round game.
The fourth-seeded Owls (19-6), who have won five of their past six games, advance to the sectional quarterfinals where they will host fifth-seeded Pompton Lakes, a 12-0 victor over Waldwick last week in the opening round, on Wednesday
