Balance is the byword at Secaucus. The Patriots have been clicking in the hitting, pitching and fielding departments for most of the season, and they are now in prime position as postseason tournament time heats up.

Sixth-seeded Secaucus (14-7), which defeated McNair Academic, 15-3, in five innings in a first-round game Saturday, plays at third-seeded North Bergen on Tuesday in the Hudson County softball tournament quarterfinals. A year ago Secaucus defeated the Bruins, 4-2, in eight innings in the HCT championship game as the Patriots claimed their first county crown since the event began in 2010.
