Top-seeded Harrison had no problems taking care of No. 5 New Providence earlier today, 5-1, in the NJSIAA North 2, Group 1 sectional semifinals at Harrison High School.
The Blue Tide will look to clinch their second straight sectional title (they won a crown in Group 2 last season) when they take on No. 7 Secaucus in the championship on Thursday.
In today’s games, Harrison got five goals from five players and held a dominant 20-3 shot advantage over the Pioneers. Leandro Gonzales, Ali Lakhrif, Cristian Marquez, Ney Moreno and Christian Restrepo all scored for Harrison.
Secaucus. which plays with Harrison in the NJIC, continued its surprising run through the state tournament with a 2-1 overtime victory over sixth-seeded Glen Ridge today at Glen Ridge.
