It was a great night for Hasbrouck Heights on both the boys and girls side as it swept both titles during the NJSIAA North 2, Group 1 sectional meet.
The Hasbrouck Heights boys totaled 101.5 points, led by an incredible effort on the track.
Michael Napolitano won both the 55 (6.64) and 400 (52.74). Aidan Morrow was another double winner in the distance events. Morrow was victorious in the 1,600 at 4:29.06 an 3,200 at 9:50.89.
The big night continued as Matthew Murillo won the 55-hurdles with a time of 8.14 and Ryan Ober was victorious in the 800 at 2:04.11. Hasbrouck Heights capped it off with a win in the 4×400 at 3:36.75.
Mountain Lakes finished second and was led by Isaac Bielinski, who won the pole vault at 12-0. New Milford rounded out the top three.
The girls side was a closer battle as Hasbrouck Heights edged out Mountain Lakes, who finished in second with 57 points, with 65 points.
Mackenzie Bua led Hasbrouck Heights with a win in the 1,600 with a time of 5:22.28. Ellie Shkreli brought another gold to the team in the 55-hurdles at 8.95.
Gwendolyn Neale dominated the 400 (59.34) and 800 (2:21.90), winning gold in both and pacing a third-place finish for Verona. Natalie Aloia won the pole vault at 8-6.
Rutherford’s relay team came out on top in the 4×400 with a time of 4:18.08.
