HAWTHORNE — Hawthorne High School girls soccer head coach Gus Schell could not be happier with the work ethic of his team.

“They make my job easy,” said Schell. “They come to work and they want to work to get better.”

Schell and the Lady Bears were 4-1 as of last week with the lone loss coming at the hands of Pompton Lakes.

Six starters graduated from the 2013 team.

The head coach said that the team is still looking to make changes and wants to get better during the season.

“We’re still a work in progress,” said Schell.

“As the year goes along we are looking to get better and better.”
