PARK RIDGE – Cresskill jumped out to a 15-2 lead and coasted to a 50-19 victory over Park Ridge Jan. 8.

Senior Krystin Swan scored eight of her game-high 16 points in the first quarter as the Cougars outscored the Owls 11-2 in the opening frame.

“In a game like this,” said junior Emma Looby, “we go through our offense and make sure everybody knows different positions. It’s a teaching tool for everybody to just get used to the offense because it’s new this year.

“It was hard in the beginning to jump into a whole new set but now everyone is picking it up. Everyone’s working so hard and it’s really working out well. We all really like it and we finally adjusted.”

Cresskill coach Mike McCourt described the offense as, “a lot of movement. It’s something we’ve worked on. We put in this new offense in the beginning of the year and it’s worked out. We tried to run some plays and a couple of them worked and a couple of them broke down. We’re getting there.”
