Lyndhurst will try to grab a Group 1 state title this weekend after taking home their fourth straight state sectional title in record-setting fashion on Saturday at Bowler City in Hackensack.

North Arlington joined the Golden Bears in heading to the state finals after finishing right behind them in the same section for second place. The two top teams in each section get a bid to the state finals at Carolier Lanes in New Brunswick on Friday

Lyndhurst easily took first in the Group 1 Section 1A with 3,490 points, the most in Section 1A, and set a state sectional record for pins. North Arlington finished second in Group 1 with 2,858 points. Becton came in fourth in Group 1 1A with 2,405 points. Rutherford came in fifth in Group 2 1A with 2,465 pins, only 235 pins from second place Dumont.
