Ranked #37-Charlie Voorhees, Secaucus

• Record: 118-78
• Winning percentage: .602
• Years as head coach: 20; all at Secaucus

Resume: Voorhees has 118 wins to his credit but one of his biggest may have come off the field. As a long-time benefactor for the sport, Voorhees was one of the architects behind the NJIC’s in-season playoff. The idea, which has been widely applauded across the state, was put in motion to help preserve small-school football in the North Jersey, where Secaucus – under Voorhees’ guidance – has been a staple of the Group 1 circuit.

Ranked #8-Nick Delcalzo, Hasbrouck Heights

• Record: 253-88-1
• Winning percentage: .742
• Years as head coach: 34; all at Hasbrouck Heights

Resume: Delcalzo found a home at Hasbrouck Heights in 1985 and hasn’t left since, winning four sectional titles in 1994, 2007, 2016 and 2017. He has turned the Aviators into a perennial North 1, Group 1 contender, qualifying for the state playoffs 18 times in the last 21 years. Since 1985, Hasbrouck Heights has earned at least a share of the league/division title 13 times, including 2007 and 2016 seasons in which the Aviators went undefeated. The program also claimed the first NJIC championship in 2016 under Delcalzo, defeating Pompton Lakes, 14-13, in the inaugural final.
