The North Jersey Interscholastic Conference playoffs arrived in Week 7 and featured some of the top performances in the conference. Check out our offensive and defensive players of the week below:

OFFENSE

Justin Wagner, Park Ridge, Jr., WR/RB

Wagner was right in the middle of Park Ridge’s thrilling fourth-quarter comeback against Cresskill in the NJIC semifinals, accounting for all four touchdowns in a 29-28 win to advance to the championship game. Two of those touchdowns came in the fourth, with Park Ridge trailing by as many as 15, on an 18-yard run and 56-yard catch. Earlier in the game, Wagner scored on a touchdown receptions of 44 yards and touchdown run of 64 yards. Wager has been a major weapon for Park Ridge (7-0) all season, with 57 rushes for 748 yards and 9 TD, to go along with 18 catches for 441 yards and 6 TD.



DEFENSE

John Rodriguez, Lyndhurst, Sr., CB

Rodriguez was right in the middle of Lyndhurst shutting down Waldwick/Midland Park in the NJIC semifinals in a dominant, 33-7 win, registering two interception — including a 14-yard pick-6 — and six tackles, including one for a loss. He also had two catches, both going for touchdowns, including one set up by his 54-yard punt return.
