Robert Carselda, North Arlington, So., UTL.
The team leader in hits (12) and runs batted in (10), Carselda was locked in during three games last week, going a smoking 7-for-10. His best performance came in a 7-6 win over Ridgefield Park with three hits in four trips, a home run, four runs scored and an RBI.
Gabe Gnecco, Butler, Sr., UTL.
Gnecco started last week with no nits, no RBI and one run scored. When it was finished, he was the team leader in RBI and co-leader in hits. Gnecco went 7-for-9. He drove in two runs in three straight games against Dwight-Englewood, New Milford and Leonia. He also had three doubles, a triple and scored three runs.
Rhys Bowie, Dwight-Englewood, So., OF
Bowie, who bats right and throws left, was in a groove last week. He went 6-for-14 with a home run and seven RBI. He had two hits, three RBI, his home run and two runs scored in a 9-3 victory over Butler. He had two runs batted in against both St. Benedict’s and Harrison.
Adam Ayatallah, Harrison, Sr., UTL
Ayatallah leads Harrison in three offensive categories — hits, home runs and runs scored. In two games last week he was 6-of-7 with five runs scored and three runs batted in. In a game against Ridgefield he was 2-for-3 with three runs scored, three RBI and a home run.
Michael Castiglia, Butler, Sr., RHP-INF
Castiglia fired a two-hit, five-inning shutout in a 10-0 victory over Leonia last week. He struck out a season-best seven with zero walks.
