* A scrappy six-player rotation that includes five new starters has helped lead Hawthorne Christian to a 10-6 record. The group is composed of: junior G Willy Mora (9.4 points, 3.0 assists per game), sophomore F Jon Maura (9.2 points, 9.0 rebounds), senior F Caleb Hart, junior G Clarence Fitchett, sophomore F Nick Alvarez and freshman G David Falcon.

* North Arlington coach Rich Corsetto earned his 700th win with Friday’s 59-52 defeat of Becton. Corsetto, 68, is a Wayne resident who has earned 435 wins in college and 266 in high school following a 45-32 victory over Lyndhurst on Saturday. He is in his second season at North Arlington (11-6) and 35th overall. He previously led Passaic Tech, the now-defunct Neumann Prep, Hudson County Community College and Passaic County CC.

* Park Ridge (6-9) has shown good scoring balance in its first season under coach Adam Kaplan. The Owls’ five starters average between six and nine points per game, with 6-foot-2 junior F Michael Wittenberg averaging nine points and a team-leading nine rebounds.

* Ridgefield senior G Anas Zubi led his team to three victories last week to improve the Royals’ record to 12-3. Zubi averaged 21.3 points in wins over Bergen Charter, Queen of Peace and Saddle Brook. He scored 27 points against Bergen Charter.
