Midland Park 5, Park Ridge 1
The Panthers pulled off maybe the upset of the day on the road against No. 18 Park Ridge. Sophomores Lyle Harpster and Matt Weisbrot combined for all five Midland Park goals.
Palisades Park 2, Cresskill 1
After a 1-win season in 2015, the Tigers started the new season on a high note. It was the first opening day win for Palisades Park in six years.
Queen of Peace 4, Secaucus 2
The Golden Griffins, who went winless last year and whose school was in danger of closing this summer, turned in a huge shocker to start the season against one of the top programs in the NJIC Liberty. Queen of Peace outscored Secaucus, 3-1, in the second half.
