Bogota senior P Madison Heck was outstanding both in the circle and at the plate to lead her team to a pair of victories. In a 21-1 win over Roselle Catholic, Heck yielded just one hit and struck out 15 batters. She also went 2-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored. Then in a 5-0 win over Park Ridge, Heck allowed three hits and struck out 14, while also going 2-for-3 with a double and run scored.

 

Elmwood Park junior Zena Hafez had a huge opening week, going 5-for-9 (.556) with six RBI and four runs scored. Hafez slugged three home runs Wednesday, including a walk-off solo shot in the bottom of the eighth inning, in a 7-6 win over Manchester.

Emerson senior 1B Katie Falotico went 5-for-6 in two games last week, racking up three triples, two home runs, seven RBI and five runs scored.

Glen Rock junior P Olivia Brencovich pitched shutouts against Manchester and Hawthorne, including a no-hitter against Manchester. She struck out 30 batters in the two games. Brencovich also went 2-for-6 at the plate with a single, triple, one run scored, one walk and one RBI during the week.

Lodi senior C Nikki Salvatore went 10-for-16 with two doubles, one triple, one home run and five RBI, and hit for the cycle against Manchester on Friday.

Senior C Morgan Santora helped lead Saddle Brook to a 4-1 start. Santora went 10-for-16 (.625) with two home runs, three doubles and 12 RBI. Freshman 3B Ashley Georgevich batted .538 with 11 runs scored, while her twin sister Alexis (CF) hit .364 with nine RBI.
