As part of our daily coverage of New Jersey high school football, we will shine the spotlight on some of the topoffensive performances in the North Jersey Interscholastic League each week.
Myles Balchan, Rutherford, Sr., QB
Balchan surpassed 4,500 career passing yards in Rutherford’s 34-7 victory over Pompton Lakes this past week. He threw for 139 yards and one touchdown, while rushing for 50 yards and one touchdown. The Bulldogs are off to a 4-0 start behind Balchan’s 846 total passing yards and eight combined touchdowns.
Kenny Callaghan, Hawthorne, Sr., QB
Callaghan popped off with a four-touchdown performance in Hawthorne’s 42-12 road win over Saddle Brook on Friday. The senior ran 18 times for 190 yards and three touchdowns to go with 59 yards and a score on 8-of-15 passing. Callaghan added six tackles and a forced fumble defensively.
Eli Davis, Becton, Sr., QB
Davis as expected is stacking together great performances and another one came on Friday in a 47-0 home victory over Palisades Park-Leonia. The dual-threat signal caller compiled 173 yards passing and two touchdowns on 4-of-8 completions to go with three rushes for 50 yards and another score. He now has 13 touchdowns passing/rushing on the year.
Jorheny Rodriguez, Garfield, Jr., RB
Rodriguez brought his best to the field with nearly 300 all-purpose yards in Garfield’s 33-14 home victory against Lyndhurst on Friday. Rodriguez rumbled for 173 yards and two scores on 15 carries to go with an 80-yard kick return for a touchdown. He also chipped in with a 20-yard reception and a pair of tackles.
Kobe St. Hilaire, New Milford, Sr., RB
St. Hilaire didn’t need much field time to put on a clinic in New Milford’s 54-6 victory over Secaucus at home on Saturday. St. Hilaire generated 81 yards and three scores on five carries to go with an 82-yard interception return for a touchdown. He additionally contributed defensively with three tackles.
