Weekly Round Up /April 22 – 27

 

BASEBALL:

Cresskill HS:

Troy Henderson has 32 K’s this year in 5 games pitched with a record of 4-1 to go along with a 1.31 ERA and only 5 walks.  His 4 wins have all been complete games.

 Lyndhurst HS:

After a 1-2 start, the Lyndhurst Golden Bears Baseball Team won a school record of 13 consecutive games. Coach Servideo commends the entire  Varsity Team for their improved play throughout the season thus far.

New Milford HS

vs. Secaucus – 9-6 win, Brendan O’Brien 3-3, 2 RBI, R and Kevin Soriano 2-3, RBI, 2R

vs. #12 Ridgefield: 5-0 win Kevin Soriano pitched a 1 hit complete game shutout.

@ Midland Park: 4-0 Win Sean Ryan and Robert Bowers combined shutout on mound and Connor Swanson 2-4 with 2 2B and 2 RBI

@ Cresskill: 16-8 win , 15 hits as a team.  Connor Swanson 3-5, 2 2B, 3 RBI, 2R

SOFTBALL:

Rutherford HS

Pitcher Julie Sosnicki, broke two school records…..Career Strikeouts and Career Wins. Both these records were previously held by Allison Weist a 1996 RHS graduate.

TENNIS:

Hasbrouck Heights HS

Gio Lombardi (2nd singles) and Adam Petrovics (3rd singles) remain undefeated (9-0) going into week 5 of the season. This week, they face league rivals Leonia. Hasbrouck Heights currently enjoys an 8-1 record overall.

Saddle River Day School:

Daniel Wright (11th grade):

The SRD Captain presently sports a record of 8-1. Only loss is to Nick Bradley (#1 in county) in a close 3 set match.Last year’s record was 18-4 (3 losses to Bradley). Reached county semifinals last year and reached the round of 16 in states.Currently, ranked #32 in the Eastern United States in the Boys’ 18 division.

Thomas Wright (9th grade):

Current record is 9-0. Has completely dominated opponents. In 9 matches, he has only lost 2 games while winning 54.Currently, ranked #95 in the Eastern United States in the Boys’ 16 division.

TRACK AND FIELD:

Hasbrouck Heights HS:

Daniella Macera, Jillian DiGiacinto, Stacy Porzl, Jenna DiGiacinto finished 3rd in the 4 x 400m class relay at the 119th Annual Penn Relay Carnival, running a season and conference best 4:06.98

Senior Javelin thrower Anthony Seidel finished 9th in the Penn Relays Championship of America Javelin competition throwing 177′ 8″.
Hawthorne HS:
Junior Jenna  Dyksen Set the school record in the 100 m high hurdles with a time 15.4 seconds, eclipsing the previous mark help by Nia Jackson at 15.7 seconds. Freshman Kaitlin Salisbury won the Freshman  100m High Hurdles at the Twin Boro relays in a time of 16.5 seconds.
New Milford:
 Jen Teets, Jenean Igmat, Khadijah Cox and Jaimee Tiu set a new school record in the Sprint Medley of 4:27 at Saturdays Twin Boro Relays
Dante Tobler – School record 100m  (10.8)at  Twin Boro Relays
Secaucus HS:
Carlos Moctezuma, Michael Shazor, Joe Mancuso, and Keeneth Ross finished 4th in the 4×100 relay at the University of Pennsylvania Relay Carnival with a time of 45.71 and a 10.9 anchor split by Ross. They also finished 8th in the 4×400 with a time of 3:34.29 and a 49.0 anchor split by Ross.
Katalina Cornelio, Alexis Simon, Hannah Narvacan, and Carleisha Forteau finished 6th in the 4×400 with a time of 4:17.27 and a 59.7 anchor split by Forteau.
Saddle Brook:
D.J. Johnson threw  46’11” in the shot put in a tri-meet Vs. Becton and North Arlington on 4/23.
