Congratulations to Owen Keating!
It was common knowledge that the 2025 Indoor Meet of Champions’ boys pole vault could easily end up being a battle between the two top athletes in the event in Pompton Lakes’ Owen Keating, and West Morris’ Cade Zeolla.
That ended up being the case, and it was Keating who ended up top.
Keating recorded a 16-0 to take a gold in the event, at Ocean Sea Breeze in Staten Island.
Both Keating and Zeolla crossed the 16-0 mark, but the difference ended up being the Pompton Lake senior reaching the march on his first attempt.
Keating entered the event with a state best 16-6, which he set during a January invitational. The Pompton Lakes senior broke the Group 41record with a 16-1 last week.
Zeolla, who was undefeated coming into the Meet of Champions held the NJ No. 2 of 16-0.
