NORTH ARLINGTON – The Queen of Peace wrestling team fell one win short of winning a state title. And the Golden Griffins head coach believes that his team will be in the running to win the Non-Public North B state title.
But the coaches and players don’t talk about the tea goals.
Instead the individual marks are what are discussed and they believe those individual goals will lead to team success.
As of last week Queen of Peace was undefeated in dual matches at 4-0 and also had success in a few regional wrestling tournaments out of state. “It’s huge,” said Coach Scot Weaver about wrestling in the out-of-state tournaments. “The level of competition is very good and every match is a chess match.”
There’s no doubt that Queen of Peace is aiming to win the Non-Public North B title after falling at DePaul last season. As of last week, the Golden Griffins were on top of the power points with another week before the state cutoff.
