In the Correa household, football rules.
Christian Correa and his family like to hit a local restaurant on Sundays to watch the NFL. It’s a family tradition to gather round, have a nice meal, and root for their favorite teams.
“My mom [Siva] likes the Giants, my sister [Megan] and brother [Jose] like the Cowboys, and my dad [Jose] doesn’t really have a favorite team,” the New Milford running back and Chargers fan said.
If there’s one thing they all can agree on, it’s how much they hope to see Christian break the New Milford single-season rushing mark Friday when the Knights face Becton in the North 1, Group 1 semifinals.
The Record Male Athlete of the Week is coming off a 260-yard, three-touchdown performance in New Milford’s 40-20 victory over Belvidere.
Correa, who has 31 rushing touchdowns this season, already has broken Dante Tobler’s mark of 27 set in 2012. He’s only 22 yards behind Tobler’s record of 2,075 yards.
