North Jersey Interscholastic Conference Softball Player of the Week

In three games and 17 innings last week, Yaniero was among the state’s best pitchers. She tossed two perfect games — a seven-inning outing with 20 strikeouts against North Arlington and a five-inning perfect game with 13 strikeouts against Ridgefield. She then posted a complete game shutout where she scattered two hits and struck out seven against Secaucus. She finished the week with 40 strikeouts in 17 innings, giving up just two hits. She also went 5-for-10 at the plate with a homer and seven RBI.
