NORTH JERSEY INTERSCHOLASTIC CONFERENCE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (#8)

Cole Goumas, Rutherford, Sr., RB/DB

Goumas picked a great time to play arguably one of the best games of his career as Rutherford captured its third consecutive NJIC title with a 26-7 win over Park Ridge. Goumas had 25 carries for 171 yards and three touchdowns offensively while battling pouring rain. Defensively, Goumas shined, too, racking up 12 tackles.

Kyle Perry, Butler, Sr., RB/LB

Perry has been Butler’s bellcow back all season and he had his best performance of the season in his team’s 42-14 win over Waldwick on Friday. He didn’t even need many touches to pull it off. Perry was good for 115 yards and four scores on a mere 14 carries. He also added three tackles (one solo) in the victory.

Vinnie Stigliano, Pompton Lakes, Jr., WR/DB/P

Stigliano did a bit of everything for Pompton Lakes in its 24-21 win over Glen Rock on Saturday. The junior ran twice for eight yards and a touchdown, caught three passes for 25 yards and a score, recorded 50 kick return yards on three returns and punted the ball superbly to lift the Cardinals to the postseason. He punted seven times for 282 yards, which included a 76-yard punt.
