THE STARTING FIVE: PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Alyssa Craigwell, Secaucus, So.

Craigwell had a big week for Secaucus, which is back to playing games after beginning the season on a pause. In two games, Craigwell averaged 20.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2.5 steals per game. She is currently averaging 16.5 points per game this season.

Jaylene Ferrer, Elmwood Park, Sr.

Ferrer played a big role in Elmwood Park’s wins over Garfield and Pompton Lakes. She averaged 19 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals per game across those two contests. She also reached a personal milestone in the win over Garfield, scoring her 1000th point in the third quarter on the way to 23 points in the contest.

Stacy Gomez, Ridgefield, Sr.

Ridgefield played just one game this week, a 38-35 loss to Leonia, but Gomez played her part for the team. She scored a game-high 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, dished out 2 assists and recorded a steal.

Isabella Javier, Lodi Immaculate, Jr.

Javier averaged 19.5 points in two games for Lodi Immaculate this week, both wins. She scored a game-high 23 points in a 58-33 win over St. Mary (Ruth.) and followed it up by scoring 16 points in a 58-45 win over Hasbrouck Heights.

 

Montana Nicks, Dwight-Englewood, Sr.

Nicks led the NJIC in scoring this week at 28 points per game. She played in just one of two games for Dwight-Englewood, pouring in her 28 points in a 65-52 loss to Secaucus. Nicks is averaging 23 points per game this season.
