North Jersey Interscholastic Conference Players of the Week
Rocco D’Amico, Hasbrouck Heights, Sr., 3B/P
D’Amico was a force this past week. He led all of New Jersey with 12 hits, doing so across 15 at-bats. The Aviators senior collected seven RBIs this week, too, and has nine total this spring. D’Amico is clubbing a .714 average in 2024 alongside nine RBIs and three stolen bases.
Justin Dressler, Waldwick, Sr., UTL
Dressler was tops in the NJIC with five doubles last week alongside a 6-for-12 week at the plate. He also drove in five runs. On the mound, he struck out 10 hitters against Cresskill in 5 2/3 innings and allowed just one earned run. Overall this season, Dressler is 9-for-20 (.450) with eight RBIs, six doubles and three stolen bases.
Chris Gioia, Rutherford, Jr., OF/P
Gioia twirled a no-hitter over Secaucus on April 10 and pulled a perfect game into the final inning. He fanned 10 batters and now has 22 through 14 frames this spring.
