North Jersey Interscholastic Conference Players of the Week

 

Max Gastelu, Rutherford, Jr., G

Gastelu had a huge performance at the right time for Rutherford as he stepped up with a season-high 22 points against Paterson Charter in the NJIC Tournament final. That output helped earn Rutherford its first tile in program history. All nine of his field goals were scored inside the arc. Gastelu also had 11 points in the semifinals win over Glen Rock.

Christian Nario, Wood-Ridge, So., F

Nario had two of his best games of the season for Wood-Ridge this past week. In a one-point win over Ridgefield, he recorded 18 points. He followed that up with 21 points and seven rebounds in a loss against Waldwick. Nario is averaging 16.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.

PJ Coffey, Butler, Sr., G

Coffey greatly aided Butler’s 3-0 week with 12 points apiece in wins over Hawthorne Christian and Sussex Tech, and 18 points in a win over Kittatinny. The three-sport stud has greatly improve his scoring this season going from 12.3 points per game last year to 16.3 this season.
