NJIC / StarLedger Flag Football Players of the Week
Erin Albert, Wallington, WR/LB, Sr.
Albert secured nine total flag pulls and made three pass deflections to help Wallington earn a 12-6 season-opening win over Wood-Ridge on April 1. The senior also collected 86 total yards of offense and had a 20-yard touchdown reception in the contest.
Elanna Henry, Garfield, WR/R, Sr.
Henry accounted for three of Garfield’s four rushing touchdowns in its 25-0 victory over New Milford on April 1. The senior finished with 93 yards rushing in the contest. On defense, Henry led Garfield with six total flag pulls and three pass deflections.
Kasandra Rodriguez, Harrison, WR/R, Sr.
The Blue Tide’s 49-0 victory over Ridgefield on April 2 saw Rodriguez take all three of her carries to the end zone for a total of 67 yards. The senior also racked up seven flag pulls, five tackles for a loss, and two sacks on defense in the victory. Rodriguez has 10 total flag pulls and four sacks through Harrison’s first two games of the season.
