NORTH JERSEY INTERSCHOLASTIC CONFERENCE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Chris Gioia, Rutherford, Sr., RB/DB

Gioia took over in the second half in Randolph’s 28-7 win over Wood-Ridge. Gioia rushed for three of his four touchdowns in the game’s final 24 minutes and ended the contest with 19 carries for 178 yards. He also had eight tackles, including one for loss, on defense.

Marcus Goldsack, Secaucus, Sr., QB

The 6-foot-3 signal caller helped the Patriots earn their first win of the year in 41-14 fashion over Wallington on Friday in Secaucus. Goldsack finished the night with 214 yards and three touchdowns on 5-of-5 passing to go with a rushing line of 4-24-1. It’s his second game of the year with three passing scores and the ninth contest of his career in which he has posted multiple passing/rushing touchdowns.

Roddy Morinho, Lyndhurst, Sr., RB/LB

The senior delivered an outstanding two-way effort for the Golden Bears in their 49-0 road victory over Garfield on Saturday. Morinho had 10 carries for 53 yards and three touchdowns to go with 11 tackles (five solo) and a whopping five tackles for loss on defense. The rushing numbers bring his season touchdown total to 10 and the tackles tally him up to 47 on the year.

Patrick Randolph, Park Ridge, Fr., RB/LB

Randolph continued his strong rookie campaign in Park Ridge’s 27-0 win over Hawthorne. Randolph had 29 carries for 194 yards and four touchdowns, while making three tackles, including one for loss, on defense. Randolph is second in the NJIC in rushing yardage with 891.
