North 1B boys sectional champions
This is the Panthers’ first sectional crown since group play began in 2007, and NorthJersey.com records indicate it may be their first all-time.
“It’s phenomenal,” third-year coach Brian Svetz said. “My last two years, we were down toward the bottom of the league [NJIC Meadowlands]. … This group put it all together.”
Wallington outscored Leonia, 2,370-2,347, behind a 563 series from freshman Daniel Jeetan. Junior Andy Hong (606, 10th) and the Lions earned their third consecutive trip to states, holding off Lenape Valley by seven pins.
