In Rutherford’s two duals to begin the year, the 215-pound Pisciotta had to deliver clutch moments facing a deficit. In the opener against Fair Lawn, the Bulldogs trailed 36-31 before Pisciotta’s decision win over William Feliz to make it 36-34. The Cutters forfeited at heavyweight to give Rutherford the win. Against Secacus, Pisciotta pinned (4:45) Daniel Rogers with his team down 34-30. Fellow senior Luciano Matteo would win by decision at heavyweight to give Rutherford the 39-34 victory.
